The goal of our Brush with Kindness (BWK), home preservation program, to allow limited-income homeowners to continue to live in safe, decent homes for years to come. After years of deferred maintenance, homes fall into disrepair. This can lead to a downward spiral of code citations, the loss of homeowner insurance and ultimately mortgage foreclosure. These effects hurt not just individual homeowners, but also entire neighborhoods. As a result, homeowners have the opportunity to experience a stronger neighborhood and improve their quality of life. Volunteers have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others and to build teamwork among co-workers, friends and family. Communities are often revitalized through the investment of time and resources in the refurbishment of these homes.
L-C Valley Habitat's BWK program would not be possible without Major Sponsor (s). Sponsorship supports identifying sites, providing tools and materials, providing professional supervision to manage safety and direct volunteers, and overseeing quality of work.
